Robot Pets

Robot Pets are a welcome accompaniment to our therapy dogs at Cariad Pet Therapy.

We have been championing the concept since April 2020 when our therapy dog visits were suspended due to COVID-19.

Through funding from The National Lottery Community Fund we have to date donated 60 Robot Pets as of March 2022.

The Robot Pets have a proven impact on communities and users enjoy a better quality of life and emotional health by, reducing social isolation, loneliness, depression, and in some circumstances, medication.  They evoke smiles and laughter and bring people together.

The pets are widely used in dementia care services, within care homes for the elderly, with people with learning disabilities and with people receiving support in their own homes.

We have been told of some heart-warming stories of the success of these pets at Cariad Pet Therapy. We are strong advocates of their worth alongside our actual therapy dog volunteer visits that we provide.

Robot Pets are designed to bring comfort, companionship, and fun. The interactive cats and pup are all about an ease-of-care and convenience paired with technology for the best possible experience. These pets have been co-developed with extensive feedback from end users and their families, to provide joy, companionship, and plenty of fun!
